The two doctors attempt to piece together all the events over a lifetime to discover why Johnny chose to die. Each step in the backwards is a different piece of Johnny’s history. The story is about their quest to realize the dreams of Johnny, an old man. The operation can only be performed on people who are dying to realize what they would have done with their life. The severity of the surgery means that the patient’s new life is the final thing they remember before their death. Watts are unique in that they give patients another chance at life, but not in their heads. This story is about two doctors who travel backwards through the memories of a dying man to fulfill his final wish.ĭr.
